Ohio Senate Bill 185
Ohio Senate Bill 185 went into effect on January 1st, 2007. While this law has been created to help combat and put an end to predatory lending and unscrupulous lending acts, this act will have other side effects on consumers as well. There have been a handful of lenders thus far who will not lend in the state of Ohio as a result of this act and the number of mortgage lending programs available to consumers in the state of Ohio is going to decrease as well. For example stated income loans and alternative income verification loans are going to be very hard if not impossible to find. With some lenders not lending in the state of Ohio this will obviously lower the amount of financing options available to consumers as well. As time passes by with this new law in place we will update this section so stay tuned for more information.
